2013 STARTECH Series 3.1 based on Land Rover Defender

STARTECH Series 3.1: that is the name of a design variant of the Land Rover Defender with exciting vintage styling now available from STARTECH. To this end a STARTECH REFINEMENT appearance package was developed whose design is reminiscent of the legendary Land Rover Series 3.
The appearance package includes 18-inch alloy wheels modeled after the classic steel wheels of the original, stainless-steel running boards and newly designed exterior power mirrors. All STARTECH REFINEMENT components are certified by the German Technical Inspection Association, TÜV. Of course the designers from STARTECH also turned their attention to the normally rather austere interior of the venerable off-roader. Their ministrations include a perfectly finished all-leather interior, a floor covered entirely with high-quality velour and an Alcantara headliner. The custom-developed center console houses a refrigerator and the control unit for the multimedia system. In addition to providing top-class sound with stylishly integrated speakers and a subwoofer, the system also offers 3D navigation.

Since the first Land Rover was unveiled at the Amsterdam Motor Show in 1948, it has been regarded as the prototype of off-roaders. That is the reason why STARTECH created an extraordinary appearance package that lends the current Defender a thrilling vintage look in the style of the fondly remembered Land Rover Series 3, which was in production from 1971 until 1984.
For this purpose the STARTECH designer modeled a new front that transfers the design idiom of the classic model with its unmistakable radiator shape to modern times. Of course the driver can put his trust in state-of-the-art lighting technology: the STARTECH front component features two round 7-inch LED headlights for safe nighttime expeditions even far from civilization.
In addition, STARTECH equips the Defender with larger exterior power mirrors, a contribution to a higher level of active safety, and stainless-steel running boards.
The STARTECH alloy wheels epitomize old-school design at its finest. They are modeled after the classic heavy-duty steel wheels of the vintage Land Rovers, but offer all the advantages of modern wheel technology. The size 8.5Jx18 wheels are mounted with off-road tires in size 285/60 R 18.
The interior welcomes driver and passengers with a luxurious ambiance. The company upholstery shop crafted the STARTECH interior from especially soft and breathable leather. The headliner is made from fine Alcantara.
A newly designed center console is not only an eye-catcher in the cockpit, but also elegantly integrates a large refrigerator. In addition, the STARTECH console provides space for a double-DIN multimedia system. It allows playing music or movies from an SD card, USB stick or via Bluetooth audio streaming. But that’s not all: with the help of a 7-inch monitor a 3D navigation system safely guides the crew to the destination.
STARTECH also turned its attention to the trunk. A tailor-made teakwood floor lends the Defender a maritime touch.
