2013 Land Rover Electric Defender Concept

Land Rover is continuing to champion British innovation and cutting-edge automotive engineering by unveiling seven new Electric Defender models at the Geneva Motor Show. The research vehicle delivers zero emissions while retaining its tough, go-anywhere capability.
"Investing in innovation has always been the lifeblood of our business and our engineering teams are working hard to develop innovative new technology to provide sustainable motoring solutions," said John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director.
The standard diesel engine and gearbox have been replaced by a 70kW (94bhp), 330Nm electric motor twinned with a 300-volt, lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 27kWh, giving a range of more than 50 miles. In typical, low speed off-road use it can last for up to eight hours before recharging. The battery can be fully charged by a 7kW fast charger in four hours, or a portable 3kW charger in 10 hours.

2013 Land Rover Discovery 4 HSE Luxury Limited Edition

The new Discovery 4 HSE Luxury Limited Edition is guaranteed to turn heads with a distinctive new exterior look. Bright silver finishing picks out the full-length roof rails and complements the Noble (satin chrome) plated door mirror caps, silver bonnet script and tailgate badge. The grille treatment is the opposite of the existing style, the grille surround and fender vents finished in Indus Silver and the grille vanes in body colour.
Subtle yet sophisticated detailing is carried through to the rear of the vehicle by a bright finisher along the sides and tailgate, completed by a bright, stainless steel bumper tread strip and a unique bright metal badge showcasing 'HSE LUXURY'. Door handles are in body colour and the exterior is finished off with a set of 20-inch, 10-spoke alloy wheels. Three body colours are available, Santorini Black, Orkney Grey and for the first time on the Discovery 4, Havana.
"The HSE Luxury Limited Edition is probably the most luxurious specification yet offered on the Discovery 4, with striking exterior treatments and colour choices allowing customers to stamp their own personality on the vehicle. The stunning equipment levels are backed up by rugged durability, great performance and high efficiency," says John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director.

2013 Land Rover Defender

Land Rover Defender customers seeking a higher level of specification can now enhance their vehicle even further with three additional options and a choice of two new body colours, Barolo Black and Havana.
Options of a new premium seat design, upgraded in-car entertainment and a choice of four new contrast roof colours are now available to Defender customers.
Substantial improvements were made to the specification last year, including introduction of the EU5 2.2-litre diesel engine, ventilated discs, detail improvements to the interior and new option packs to the 'S' and 'SE' trim levels. Three speed-limiting options were also added for fleet users wanting to benefit from effective control of fuel costs.
"The appeal of the Land Rover Defender has been strengthened with the opportunity for customers to enhance their driving comfort and also to personalise their vehicle with a range of contrast roof colours. Underpinned by the powerful 2.2-litre diesel engine and its go anywhere capability, the iconic Defender retains the rugged appeal that it's always been famous for but now with even greater customer choice," says John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director.
